The SAT that was scheduled to be held at JSHS on Saturday, October 1 will be postponed due to the possibility of inclement weather this weekend. The new date for the SAT will be Saturday, October 15th.
Due to threat of inclement weather this Friday nigh, Homecoming and Tailgate have been switched to the Pamlico game on 10/21; Spirit Week festivities will continue this week with the exception of the pep rally which will be held the day of the Pamlico game. It is our expectation for students to have the use of laptops during the school day. All students are required to sign a technology acceptable use policy. Once students have submitted that and paid all fees they can take their laptops home. Parents can submit a fee waiver form to have those fees waived or can request a payment plan for school fees. The new cell phone and tardy policies go into effect Monday, September 12th. Students and staff have been practicing these new rules during the first 10 days of school. All car riders (JSHS and TES) will enter through the main office entrance. But TES and JSHS car rider lines will remain separate. Jones Senior's car rider liner enters by the athletics complex. Middle school students are required to be in their homeroom by 7:40 and high school students in their first period by 7:50. Students will receive their laptops on the second day of school. Before students can receive their laptop they must pay any past fees and fees for this school year and have signed technology use agreement form . Student fees include a $25 instructional fee and a $25 technology fee. Parents will write one check of $50 to JSHS. You will be notified if fees are previously owed or to find out sooner please contact the school. Monday August 29th is the first day of school for students. Wednesday August 31st the Senior 12 Grader's Ice Cream Social at 6:00. Thursday the high school tennis team plays at Bear Grass. Friday night the football team hosts North Duplin High School at 7:00.
