Hello, this is Dr. Parker, principal of Jones Senior. JSHS has a busy schedule of events this week. We celebrate Homecoming festivities September 18th through the 22nd. Please refer to separate communications regarding special activities and participate when possible. On Monday, Varsity Tennis plays at Home and Middle School Volleyball is away. Tuesday, Varsity Volleyball and Varsity Soccer are both away. Wednesday Varsity Tennis & Middle School Volleyball play at Home, and Middle School Football is away. On Thursday, Progress Reports will be sent home. Also on Thursday, Varsity Volleyball and Varsity Soccer are home. September 22nd is a student holiday, the Homecoming Tailgate starts that afternoon and Varsity Football plays that night. Good afternoon, Trenton Elementary and Jones Senior High School entered a shelter-in-place out of an abundance of caution at 2:00 p.m. today. We quickly determined that there was no threat on our campus, and the shelter-in-place was lifted. We will always respond to all situations with the safety of our students and our staff at the forefront of all that we do. Thank you!

Soccer Schedule for this Week

Hello, this is Dr. Parker, principal of Jones Senior. Tomorrow Varsity Tennis plays away and Varsity Volleyball plays home on Tuesday. By Wednesday September 13th all students are expected to have an iPad or laptops for certain LCC students. If students have signed the acceptable use policy and paid their fees, and do not have one please contact administration. If there are any hardships related to paying fees or signing an acceptable use policy please contact me. Also, on Wednesday tardies will be recorded, and cell phone and airpod referrals will be given for not following the SPEAR expectations. That afternoon, Varsity Tennis is away and Varsity Soccer Jones Senior hosts our first ever home game. On Thursday of this week Varsity Volleyball is away and Varsity Soccer game is home. The following message contains important information from Jones Senior High School. Hello, this is Dr. Parker, principal of Jones Senior, we trust everyone had a pleasant and safe Labor Day Holiday. Car riders should not be dropped-off before 7:50 unless there is a sibling ride issue or parent getting to work issue. If students have signed the acceptable use policy and paid their fees they should have received their device last week. As students pay fees and turn-in forms devices will be provided. On Wednesday September 6th, Varsity Tennis is home and Varsity Volleyball is away. Also, at 6:00pm there is the Class of 2024 Ice Cream Social in the cafeteria. On Thursday of this week Varsity Volleyball is home and Jones Senior's first ever Varsity Soccer game is at Kinston. Varsity Football has a bye this week. Friday, September 1, Jones County Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay. We look forward to students and staff returning to school on Friday. Students may be drop offed at 9:30am. Students should report to second period, which start at 10:00am.

Due to the potential of severe weather associated with Hurricane Idalia, Jones County Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, August 31st for students and staff. On Friday, September 1, Jones County Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay. Please stay safe and we look forward to students and staff returning to school on Friday. Students that have paid their fees and have a signed Acceptable Use Policy will receive their student issued iPad in first period tomorrow August 30th. Students were given paper copies of the acceptable use policy today for parents to sign. Parents please sign and return with your students tomorrow. If parents signed the electronic version we have a record of that already. If fees have not been paid, students should pay their third period teacher the $50. Vacancy Announcement

The JV and Varsity volleyball teams will be playing away at Eastern Christian Homeschool today. Spectators will need to bring their own chairs. Admission is $5. JV game starts at 4 PM. The address for the gym is: 1100 W Fifth St Washington, NC 27889 Both teams will be home tomorrow playing against Hobbton High School. JV game starts at 4:30 PM and admission is $8. Come out and support your Lady Trojans!

The following message contains important information from Jones Senior High School. Hello, this is Dr. Parker, principal of Jones Senior, we are excited to welcome our students back tomorrow morning. Car riders are allowed to enter the building at 7:30, except students that drive. Middle school car riders should report to Mrs. Judkins room and high school students should report to Ms. Gordon's room. They will remain there until breakfast at 7:55. Middle school students will get breakfast on the 500 wing and high school students will receive theirs in the cafeteria. Students are considered late at 8:10, but as this is the first week of school, grace will be offered until routines are learned. Bus riders and parents please allow 5-10 minutes before or after your scheduled pickup/dropoff times. The first week of the school year always brings unforeseen or unavoidable challenges, but we will persevere through them as best we can. JSHS will have four food trucks at this Friday night's Football Game

As of today, all students should be able to view your schedule in PowerSchool. Please understand that our class options are very limited. A photo of our Master Schedule is included in the Schedule Change Request Form so that you can see your options. When you complete the form, please answer all questions, including the replacement class for the one you are requesting to drop. Unfortunately, some classes are already full and we may not be able to complete your request. We will consider every request that is submitted via the Schedule Change Request Form. Email requests or questions will not be considered. Once you submit the form, you will not be able to edit your response and you will not be able to submit the form a second time. Remember, Schedule Pickup is tonight, August 22, from 3:00pm-6:00pm. Anyone taking CCP courses, late arrival/early release, or any potential Early Graduates should plan to stop by to complete your paperwork. Open House is Thursday, August 24, from 3:00pm-6:00pm. You will be able to meet your teachers, update proof of residency, pay school fees, parking passes, etc, at this time. Schedules will be FINAL on the first day of school, which is Monday, August 28. Our new school day times are 8:25am - 3:25pm, with student drop-off beginning at 7:55am. We are looking forward to an amazing year at Jones Senior High School! Please know that students in grades 9-12 will only have 3 days to request changes to your schedule for the 23-24 school year. Schedules will be accessible in PowerSchool on Tuesday, August 22. Schedule pickup will be from 3:00pm - 6:00pm and paperwork will be available for anyone interested in Late Arrival/Early Release and Early Graduates. A digital schedule change request form will be shared; requests should not be emailed. The form must be completed no later than the end of Open House on Thursday, August 24. Counselors will work to make changes after Open House and schedules will be FINAL on the first day of school. Schedule change requests made after August 24 will not be considered.
