We created this event to provide school supplies for Jones County Students! We have invited and encouraged area businesses, churches, non-profits, and partner organizations to come participate and promote their services as well. We are requiring all participating groups to provide at least $25 worth of School Supplies. Vendors should be able to distribute the school supplies to the kids at the event.
Thanks to partners like You we were able to serve 205 area students last year. We timed this event to come before the school year starts to ease the financial burden Students and Parents might undergo to pick up school supplies.
Last year, The Filling Station purchased 205 backpacks, this year they plan to provide 250 backpacks. And with the help of Maysville Rotary, the Pollocksville Rotary, JC Senior Services, JC Health Department and the Salvation Army of Jacksonville, we had enough snacks to pack all of the backpacks. And like last year Maysville Rotary plans to provide Hot Dog Lunches for both parents and students are welcome. We also have booked some games and bounce houses onsite at the Civic Center as well to entertain the kids.
